Natuna Regent Holds Meeting with Head of BPS Riau Islands Province, Data Synergy to Improve the Quality of Regional Development Planning

The Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, accompanied by the Head of the Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida) of Natuna Regency, Mustafa Al Bakhri, received a visit and held an audience meeting with the Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of the Riau Islands Province, Toto H. Silitonga, along with his delegation. The meeting took place at the Regent’s office in the Regional Secretariat Office of Natuna Regency, Jalan Batu Sisir Bukit Arai, Bunguran Timur District, on Thursday morning (April 9).

On this occasion, the Regent expressed her appreciation for the visit from the Head of BPS Riau Islands Province and his team. She emphasized the crucial role of accurate statistical data in supporting regional development planning, particularly in border areas such as Natuna.

She also highlighted the importance of strengthening the regional statistical system and improving human resource capacity in data management. Cen Sui Lan expressed hope that this program synergy would continue to be sustained, enabling development planning to be based on more reliable data and ultimately deliver positive impacts.

In addition to fostering closer relations and coordination, the Head of BPS Riau Islands Province, Toto H. Silitonga, explained that the purpose of the meeting was to enhance the quality of sectoral statistical data in Natuna Regency. This reflects BPS’s commitment to providing data that is valid, reliable, and up to date.

According to Toto, strong synergy between BPS and the regional government is essential to support data-driven development programs. With accurate data, planning and policy-making can be more precisely targeted and better aligned with actual needs and social conditions.

The meeting continued with discussions and an exchange of views between both parties on various strategic issues, along with a shared commitment to strengthening ongoing collaboration.
