The Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, officially inaugurated a Civil Servant Candidate (CPNS) as a full Civil Servant (PNS) within the Natuna Regency Government on Friday morning (April 10). The ceremony took place in her office at the Regional Secretariat of Natuna Regency, Jalan Batu Sisir Bukit Arai, Bunguran Timur District.
The individual inaugurated was Fadil Abdullah, a 2024 graduate of the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN), who had completed his Basic Training (Latsar) in 2025.
The solemn ceremony was attended by several regional officials, including the Regional Secretary, Assistant I of the Regional Secretariat, the Head of the Regional Civil Service and Human Resource Development Agency (BKPSDM), the Regional Inspector, and several heads of divisions within the Natuna Regional Secretariat.
Prior to the ceremony, the Head of BKPSDM Natuna Regency, Muhammad Alim Sanjaya, explained that the inauguration was carried out alongside the appointment to a functional position. The newly appointed civil servant will be assigned to the Natuna Regency Inspectorate as a Functional Officer for the Supervision of Regional Government Administration.
Alim Sanjaya added that the placement aligns with the appointee’s educational background. He also noted that the development system for CPNS graduates from IPDN has recently undergone changes. Previously, all processes—including basic training—were managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). However, the responsibility has now been delegated to each respective regional government.
Furthermore, he explained that the IPDN admission quota for regions has also decreased. Each year, the institution—under the Ministry of Home Affairs—allocates only one to two slots per regency or city.
In closing, he expressed hope that the addition of this civil servant would strengthen the oversight function within the regional government, particularly in ensuring that governance is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
