The Natuna Regency Government is committed to strengthening village governance by promoting proper and transparent financial management, while ensuring that village development delivers meaningful benefits and contributes to community welfare. This is particularly important as villages are at the forefront of regional development, where government programs and policies directly reach the community.
Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan made the statement while officially opening the 2026 Workshop on Village Financial and Development Management at the Sri Serindit Multipurpose Hall in Ranai on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The workshop carried the theme “Quality Village Financial Governance to Strengthen Sustainable Village Independence and Community Empowerment.”
Cen Sui Lan said village budgets should be managed as a tool to ensure that every allocation delivers real benefits to the community. She emphasized the importance of transparent, accountable, effective, efficient, participatory, and targeted financial management. At the same time, village development planning should reflect the needs of local communities, comply with applicable regulations, and produce results that can be enjoyed fairly by residents.
She hopes the workshop will go beyond providing participants with knowledge of regulations and procedures. It is also intended to serve as a forum for discussion, sharing experiences, and finding solutions to challenges in village development planning and financial management. Cen Sui Lan urged village heads, village officials, and all participants to take the workshop seriously so that village budgets can be managed more effectively and responsibly in the future.
The workshop was attended by the Natuna Regional Secretary, representatives of regional government agencies, subdistrict heads, village heads, and village officials from across Natuna Regency. The speakers included representatives from the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of the Riau Islands Province, Budiman, First Expert Community Empowerment Facilitator at the Natuna Community and Village Empowerment Office (DPMD), Purwani, and Mudzakir, Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Representative Office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
