The assessment was conducted from 3–4 June 2026 at the Second-Floor Meeting Room of the Natuna Regent’s Office, Jalan Batu Sisir, Bukit Arai, Ranai, on Wednesday morning (3 June).

The activity forms part of the regional government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality of the bureaucracy and ensure that public officials are appointed based on their competencies and performance.

In his remarks, Jarmin expressed his appreciation to all participants taking part in the competency assessment process, commonly referred to as a job fit assessment. He emphasized that Primary High Leadership Officials play a strategic role as the driving force of the bureaucracy and serve as key pillars in realizing the region’s vision, mission, and priority development programs.

Jarmin stated that the implementation of the competency assessment constitutes an important component of the performance evaluation system for civil servants. Through this process, the regional government seeks to uphold the principle of the right person in the right place, ensuring that officials are assigned to positions that align with their capabilities, experience, and organizational needs.

Furthermore, he explained that the assessment serves not only as a means of evaluating competencies but also as an opportunity for officials to reflect on their contributions to the community and the region. The results of the process are expected to support the strengthening of a more effective, professional, and accountable system of governance.

Jarmin also underscored the importance of maintaining objectivity throughout all stages of the assessment process. He expressed confidence that any future appointments resulting from the assessment would be based on a *transparent, professional, and merit-based evaluation*, aimed at advancing the development of Natuna Regency.

Addressing the Selection Committee (Pansel) and the assessors, Jarmin called for the entire process to be conducted smoothly, accountably, and with the highest standards of integrity. He emphasized that these principles are essential to producing high-quality and competitive bureaucratic leaders capable of meeting the challenges of public administration.
