Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin handed the championship trophy to Serantas FC after the team won the 2026 inter-village football tournament in Binjai Village, Bunguran Barat, on Saturday (September 26). Serantas FC defeated Karang Laba’ FC from Pulau Tiga Barat in a penalty shootout to claim the title.
The final drew thousands of spectators and brought together teams and supporters from across the surrounding communities. Jarmin congratulated the champions and praised the Binjai Village government and everyone involved in organizing the tournament, which he said provided a positive space for competition as well as an opportunity for residents to strengthen ties.
Beyond the competition itself, Jarmin said sporting events can help young people develop their abilities, gain valuable experience, and discover new opportunities to pursue higher-level competition. He also sees local tournaments as a way to identify promising athletes who could eventually represent and bring recognition to Natuna at wider competitions.
Jarmin encouraged village governments to continue supporting youth and sports activities, saying that stronger sporting skills should go hand in hand with stronger bonds among young people. A united and capable younger generation, he said, can become an important force in driving Natuna’s development in the years ahead. (Pro_Kopim Natuna/Red)
