Natuna Regent Delivers Social Assistance to Elderly and Extremely Poor Residents

Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan distributed cash assistance to elderly residents and families living in extreme poverty in Bunguran Utara on Tuesday (September 29), as part of the regional government’s efforts to help vulnerable communities meet their everyday needs.

The assistance was provided to 76 beneficiaries in two categories: 70 elderly residents and six people classified as living in extreme poverty. Cen said the program reflects the government’s concern for residents facing economic difficulties and expressed hope that the assistance would help ease some of their financial burden.

Bunguran Utara District Head Wan Adriadi welcomed the support and encouraged recipients to make the best use of the assistance, particularly for essential daily expenses. He also noted that the beneficiary list is based on dynamic desil data, meaning the socioeconomic classification can change over time.

The district government will continue working to update the data so that future assistance can be distributed more accurately to residents who meet the eligibility criteria. The distribution was attended by relevant regional officials, village heads from across Bunguran Utara, community leaders, and beneficiaries. (Pro_Kopim Natuna/Arf)
