Natuna Ensures Minyak Kita Supply Reaches Communities at Affordable Prices

Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan inspected the arrival of a shipment of Minyak Kita cooking oil at Selat Lampa Port on Wednesday (September 23), reaffirming the regional government’s commitment to keeping essential food supplies available and affordable for residents.

Accompanied by Deputy Regent Jarmin, the Head of Natuna’s Food Security Agency, and the local Bulog branch chief, Cen monitored the arrival of a Pelni vessel carrying cooking oil shipped from Jakarta. The shipment marks the resumption of direct distribution to Natuna after logistical arrangements had previously limited the supply route to Tanjungpinang.

Cen said the regional government had coordinated with the central government and relevant agencies to address the additional distribution costs required to bring the commodity from Tanjungpinang to Natuna. Following the coordination, Minyak Kita can once again be delivered directly to the island region.

She assured residents that the government, together with Bulog and other stakeholders, would continue monitoring supply, distribution, and retail prices to prevent shortages and keep the commodity accessible to the public. She also thanked Bulog and PT Pelni for supporting the distribution process.

This shipment brought five containers containing 96,252 liters of Minyak Kita to Natuna. The cooking oil, packaged in one- and two-liter sizes, will be distributed through local retail networks, with another shipment of the same volume planned for the future.

Bulog Natuna is selling the product at IDR 14,500 per liter, while the government-set highest retail price is IDR 15,700. Bulog will continue monitoring retailers, with partners selling above the official price subject to further evaluation. (Pro_Kopim Natuna/S)
