Right on 25 November, which is designated as PGRI’s 79th Anniversary as well as the commemoration of National Teacher’s Day, PGRI put great hopes on the new government, to be able to accelerate the pace of education quality improvement in Indonesia.
This becomes important, for the high quality of education will be actualised when teachers as the main actors of education obtain serious attention in terms of improving their welfare, competence, and legal protection.
The above statement was delivered by the Chairman of the PGRI Executive Board, Professor. Dr.Unifah Rosyidi, M.Pd through a written speech read by the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi when acting as the Ceremony Inspector at the 79th PGRI Anniversary and National Teacher’s Day 2024, held at Piwang Beach, Bunguran Timur District, Ranai, Monday (25/11) morning.
Furthermore, the Chairman of PGRI in his speech also hoped that the Ministry of Education, especially Primary and Secondary Education, would be able to conduct a comprehensive study of various policies wisely.
PGRI strongly hopes that in the process of reviewing the amendments to the Sisdiknas Law, to not stopping the professional allowance, the immediate closure of the Teacher Certification program, the recruitment of all honorary teachers (PPPK and PNS), and to not differentiating between private and public teachers.
Also present at the event were the Chairman and several members of the Natuna Regency DPRD, members of the Forkopimda, Regional Secretary, several heads of related Regional Apparatus Organisations, school principals, teachers of education personnel in Bunguran Timur District.
