Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin attended a plenary session of the Natuna Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) on Thursday (September 15), where lawmakers delivered their final views on the proposed revision to the 2026 Regional Budget (APBD).
The session, chaired by DPRD Speaker Rusdi, brought forward a range of recommendations from the council’s factions on how the revised budget should respond to Natuna’s current needs. Among the key points were more equitable budget allocation across the districts, tighter oversight of government spending, efforts to increase locally generated revenue (PAD), and greater transparency and accountability in budget management.
Several factions also called for development programs to be more directly aligned with community needs. Their recommendations included strengthening public services, supporting local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), expanding affordable market programs, improving public asset management, and ensuring that government procurement remains transparent.
Connectivity between islands and regions was also highlighted as a development priority, along with efforts to strengthen Natuna’s maritime economy and increase local revenue without placing additional burdens on residents. Lawmakers further urged the regional government to address outstanding obligations and follow up on community aspirations that have been incorporated into the revised budget.
The plenary concluded with the DPRD approving the proposed amendment to Natuna’s 2026 Regional Budget to proceed as a Regional Regulation.
