The spirit of solidarity took center stage in Natuna as the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) marked its 81st anniversary with a blood donation drive on Wednesday (September 16). Held at the Sri Serindit Multipurpose Hall, the event brought together TNI and Polri personnel, government officials, representatives of public institutions and businesses, as well as members of the community.
Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin, S.E., welcomed the initiative as more than just part of the anniversary celebrations. He said activities that directly benefit the community are an important expression of the TNI’s service and its commitment to working alongside the regional government and other stakeholders. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining this spirit of collaboration to support Natuna’s continued development.
The event drew strong public participation, with 135 people registering to donate blood—well above the initial target of 120 donors. TNI RSA Ranai Air Base Commander First Marshal TNI Onesmus Gede Ray Ariadi, S.E., M.Han., said the turnout reflected the community’s strong sense of concern for others. “A simple act like donating blood can make a meaningful difference, even save a life,” he said.
The anniversary program will also include a free cleft-lip surgery service scheduled for September 20 at RSAU RSA Ranai, involving two specialist doctors from Air Force Headquarters. Together, these initiatives highlight how the TNI’s anniversary is being marked not only through ceremonial activities, but also through direct contributions to the community.
