Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Jami’ Mosque in Tanjung Village, Northeast Bunguran District, on Tuesday morning (July 28), describing the project as a shared commitment to strengthening religious life in the community.
In his remarks, Jarmin said the groundbreaking marked not only the start of the mosque’s construction but also the beginning of a collective effort that would require the participation and support of the entire community.
He emphasized that the successful completion of the project depends on strong cooperation and a continued spirit of mutual assistance. He therefore encouraged residents to maintain the values of unity and gotong royong, with everyone contributing according to their ability.
Looking ahead, Jarmin expressed hope that the Jami’ Mosque would serve a broader purpose than being solely a place of worship. He envisioned it as a centre for Islamic learning, Qur’anic education, youth development, and religious outreach, while also fostering unity and strengthening community bonds.
The ceremony was attended by the Chair of the Natuna Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), the Head of the Housing and Settlement Agency, the Head of the Natuna Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Northeast Bunguran Sub-district Head, village heads, the Chair of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Natuna, and local community members.
