Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin attended a ceremony recognizing outstanding students and providing educational support to Natuna People’s School as part of BNI’s 80th Anniversary Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program. The event was held at the school hall in the Baitul Izza Grand Mosque Complex in Ranai on Saturday morning (October 24).
The event was attended by representatives of vertical government agencies, heads of relevant regional government agencies, the Head of BNI’s Natuna Sub-Branch Office, teachers, student mentors, dormitory supervisors, and students of the Integrated People’s School in Natuna Regency.
As part of the CSR program, three students received scholarships and awards in recognition of their achievements: Putri Handini, Marlita Triningsih, and Robbi Sanus Anugrah.
In his remarks, Jarmin expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Head of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero)’s Natuna Sub-Branch Office and the entire team for their contribution and commitment to education through the company’s CSR program.
He said the initiative was a form of support for regional development, particularly in the shared effort to develop capable and competitive human resources. Through such support, he hoped young people in Natuna would have better opportunities to pursue their education and build a brighter future.
Jarmin also highlighted the importance of collaboration among different parties in supporting education. He noted that contributions from the private sector, educational institutions, and community leaders play an important role in ensuring the continued development of education.
He therefore hoped that this cooperation and similar initiatives would continue, giving more children in Natuna opportunities to develop their abilities, improve their academic performance, and prepare themselves to become capable and qualified future generations.
A similar hope was expressed by Bumi Selan, Head of the Integrated People’s School in Natuna Regency, who thanked BNI for its support and expressed his hope that the CSR collaboration could continue in the years ahead.
Bumi Selan explained that the school serves school-age children from economically disadvantaged families who need support and attention from various parties to access educational opportunities.
He added that the school currently has 175 students. In addition to receiving a standard academic education, students are also guided in developing discipline, responsibility, and positive behavior in their daily lives.
He hoped that support for the school would continue to grow and be sustained, helping nurture a younger generation that is knowledgeable, well-rounded, independent, and competitive, while contributing to Natuna’s future development. (Pro-kopimnatuna/Dn)
