Natuna Deputy Regent Calls for Cross-Sector Collaboration to Strengthen Protection for Women and Children

Protecting women and children is a shared responsibility that requires strong collaboration among local government agencies, law enforcement, healthcare providers, educational institutions, village administrations, community organizations, and the public. Such collective efforts are essential to ensure that every woman and child can enjoy their right to safety, protection, and justice.

The Natuna Regency Government continues to treat violence against women and children as a serious concern. The increasing number of cases underscores the importance of strengthening preventive measures while ensuring that every reported case is handled promptly, professionally, collaboratively, and with the best interests of the victims at the forefront.

These remarks were delivered by Natuna Deputy Regent *Jarmin* during the opening ceremony of the *Case Management and Handling Training Program*, held at Gaharu Hall, Natuna Dive Resort, on Monday (July 13).

In his address, Jarmin emphasized that the training is expected to enhance the capacity of frontline officers in receiving reports, conducting assessments, providing victim assistance, strengthening cross-sector coordination, and ensuring that victims have access to safe, dignified, and fair services.

He also expressed hope that the program would enable participants to deliver more responsive services, establish a shared understanding of case management procedures, and foster stronger coordination among relevant institutions to improve the overall protection system for women and children in Natuna.

The event was attended by members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of regional government agencies (OPD), sub-district heads, village heads, leaders of women’s organizations, religious leaders, traditional leaders, community leaders, Islamic scholars, and participants of the training program.(Pro_Kopimnatuna/S)
