Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin Sidik officially inaugurated Natuna International Kindergarten during a ceremony held on Air Tawak Street, Ramai Darat Village, on Saturday (July 11).
The event was attended by representatives of regional government agencies, the sub-district head, village heads from across East Bunguran District, the chairperson and board members of the International School Foundation, community members, and parents.
In his remarks, Jarmin expressed the Natuna Regency Government’s appreciation to the foundation and all parties involved for taking the initiative to establish the kindergarten, describing it as a valuable contribution to the development of education in the region.
He emphasized that early childhood education serves as a crucial foundation for character building. According to him, the presence of Natuna International Kindergarten is expected to strengthen collaboration between the government and the community in improving the quality of education for young children.
Jarmin noted that the early years are a vital stage for nurturing discipline, honesty, responsibility, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. He expressed hope that the school would become a strategic partner of the local government by offering quality educational programs that support children’s academic and personal development.
He also encouraged teachers and school staff to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, compassion, and integrity, while urging parents to maintain close communication and cooperation with the school. He stressed that children’s success is best achieved through strong partnerships among families, schools, and the wider community.
During the same event, Dr. Gita Titian Teras Indah, Chair of the Natuna Tera Indah Foundation, stated that quality education begins in early childhood. She explained that Natuna International Kindergarten is designed not only as a place for learning but also as a safe, nurturing, and internationally oriented environment where children can explore, develop their character, and reach their full potential.
She added that the school’s vision is built on the belief that education is a shared responsibility. Therefore, the foundation hopes to foster close collaboration with the government, parents, and the community to provide the best possible education for the children of Natuna.
Also speaking at the event, Head of the Natuna Education Office Hendra Kusuma said that the establishment of Natuna International Kindergarten reflects the active participation of the community in expanding access to education alongside the local government.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting educational institutions that encourage children to become confident, intelligent, well-rounded, and morally grounded individuals. He also expressed hope that the kindergarten would serve as a second home for its students—a place where they can learn, grow, and build a strong foundation for their future in a caring and supportive environment.
