Natuna Police held the 2024 Operation Ketupat Force Assembly at the Natuna Resort Police Office yard, Ranai, Wednesday (03/04) morning, where the participants of the assembly appeared to include Natuna Police units, several TNI units, Basarnas, Youth Organizations and related mass organizations.
The Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, attended and acted as the Inspector, who on the occasion delivered written speech from the National Police Chief, stating that based on a survey by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation in 2024, it is estimated that there is a potential for community movement of 193.6 million people, or an increase of 56.4% compared to 2023.
Based on the above survey result, the Kapolri conveyed an appeal from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, so that in welcoming the commemoration of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriyah in particular, people can go home earlier, so that the journey is more comfortable, as well as considering the security and safety factors.
Moreover, the speech also stated to address the challenges of the 56.4% increase in the number of community mobilisation, the TNI and Polri as well as involving related stakeholders will carry out a centralised operation for approximately 13 days ((4 to 16 April 2024) under the code ‘Ketupat 2024’, involving 155,165 personnel.
Furthermore, the speech also explained that the operation had begun with Intensified Routine Activities (KRYD) from 28 March to 03 April 2024, and will continue after the operation on 17-23 April 2024.
In this operation, 5,784 posts have been prepared, consisting of 3,772 security posts, 1,532 service posts, and 480 integrated posts. In the framework of services and security, especially on vulnerable routes such as congestion, accidents, crime, and natural disasters and crowded.
Furthermore, it was also explained that the National Police, together with the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of PUPR, issued a Joint Decree on Traffic Arrangements. This policy aims to support the security, safety, order, smoothness and comfort of the traffic flow, especially the homecoming and Eid back flow.
