Working Visit to Pulau Laut District, The Regent of Natuna: Physical Development must be Balanced with Human Resources Development.

In improving the welfare of fishermen, the local government continues to organize work programs as an effort to increase catches both for individual fishermen and in a group.

This can be seen from one of the Natuna Regency Government’s agendas, through the official visit of the regional head (Regent and Vice Regent of Natuna) in Pulau Laut District, located at Madah Kencana Building, Air Payang Village, Wednesday (04/09) morning.

In addition to handing over several facilities to support the activities of fishing groups, the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi and his entourage had the opportunity to have a face-to-face meeting with elements of the district government, the Communication Forum of the Laut Island District and the local community.

In addition to handing over several fishing aids for fishermen groups, on this occasion several assistance was also handed over, including school bags for students, welfare assistance in the form of 500 kg of rice and Qasidah music equipment for the management of the Art and Qasidah Institute (Lasqi) of Pulau Laut District.

Wan Siswandi explained that during his leadership, accompanied by the Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, development in the health sector became one of the priorities of the local government, this was shown by the synergy program with the BPJS Health institution to guarantee free treatment for all Natuna people.

Furthermore, he added, to support health facilities at the district level, the local government also provides Mobile Health Center vehicle facilities to make it easier to reach patients who are difficult to provide health services at the health center.

In addition, the local government has also prepared halfway house facilities for people who will be referred from the Natuna Regional Hospital to hospitals located in Batam City.

According to Wan Siswandi, regional development is not only about improving development facilities and improving the welfare of the community, but it is also important to prepare human resources who are able to independently answer future development challenges.

From this premise, with all the limitations, the local government continues to build synergies and cooperation with various Ministry institutions and higher education institutions to obtain scholarships specifically for Natuna’s native sons and daughters.

These efforts have yielded sweet results, where in the past two years, the local government has succeeded in obtaining scholarship assistance for 177 sons / daughters to be able to get a free college education at various educational institutions.

Wan Siswandi hoped that free scholarship assistance for outstanding students and underprivileged students would be a great opportunity for local sons to continue to improve the quality of regional human resources, so that in turn they could become the main drivers of regional development in the future.

Present on the occasion were several members of the DPRD, leaders of Regional Apparatus Organizations, Head of District along with the ranks of the district government and members of Forkopimcam, Head of BRK Syari’ah Natuna, and local community leaders. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
