The Natuna Regency Government held a Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW commemoration at Baitul Izza Grand Mosque, Natuna Gerbang Utaraku Complex, Ranai, on Monday evening, 24 August.
The event was attended by Natuna Regional Secretary Boy Wijanarko Varianto, representatives of the Riau Islands Provincial and Natuna Regency DPRD, members of Forkopimda, heads of regional government agencies, TNI-Polri personnel, community leaders, and local residents.
In his remarks, Boy Wijanarko expressed his appreciation for the community’s participation. He hoped the commemoration would be more than a ceremonial event and become a moment to reflect on the life and good character of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
He also encouraged the community, especially young people, to follow the Prophet’s example in building strong faith and good character, while strengthening Islamic brotherhood and social ties.
The event continued with a religious lecture by Ustaz H. Nasoha, S.Ag., who highlighted the importance of guiding the Muslim community at all ages and making Prophet Muhammad SAW a role model in daily life.
The event ended with prayers and the recitation of shalawat together with the congregation. (Pro_kopimnatuna/Arf)
