Natuna Regency Government Holds Dhikr and Istighosah to Welcome the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijriah

On Monday evening (15/06), the Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, attended a series of events to welcome the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijriah. This year’s celebration carried the theme: “Make the Islamic New Year a Momentum for Hijrah to Become Devout Muslim Men and Women.”

Held at the Baitul Izzah Grand Mosque in East Bunguran District, the event was also attended by the Vice Regent of Natuna, the Regional Secretary, Vice Chairman I of the Natuna DPRD, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of local government agencies (OPD), religious leaders, and the local community.

The evening began with congregational Maghrib and Isha prayers. Afterward, the congregation joined in dhikr (remembrance), collective prayers, and istighosah (prayer for mass guidance and protection), led by the Grand Imam of the Baitul Izzah Grand Mosque, Tirtayasa.

The highlight of the event featured a religious sermon by Dr. KH. Bambang Maryono, M.Pd., the Chairman of the Riau Islands Province Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). In his sermon, he encouraged Muslims to use the momentum of the Islamic New Year as a time for hijrah—transforming into better individuals both in daily life and in deepening the quality of their worship.

He also expressed his hope that keeping the spirit of hijrah alive with strong intentions would foster a more devout Natuna community. By doing so, citizens can play an active role in building a more progressive, prosperous Natuna Regency that is continuously blessed by Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala. (Pro_Kopim Natuna/Endang)
