Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan attended the launch of food assistance distribution for the February–March 2026 allocation, held at the multipurpose hall of Bandarsyah Subdistrict, Bunguran Timur District, on Tuesday (April 15) morning.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Regent of Natuna, representatives of Perum BULOG for the Riau Islands region, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of regional agencies, as well as subdistrict and local officials.
In her remarks, Cen Sui Lan stated that the food assistance program reflects the regional government’s commitment to helping communities meet their basic needs, particularly amid current economic challenges.
This distribution marks the second phase, specifically allocated for Bandarsyah Subdistrict. Each beneficiary received two packages of rice and two packages of cooking oil.
She further explained that similar assistance will be distributed simultaneously across all districts in Natuna Regency. The local government is ensuring that the distribution process remains well-targeted, based on verified beneficiary data.
Cen Sui Lan also expressed appreciation to Perum BULOG for its ongoing role in maintaining food availability and price stability in Natuna.
A similar statement was delivered by the Head of BULOG for the Riau Islands region, Andy Tirto, who noted that the agency is currently finalizing administrative processes for the construction of BULOG warehouses in several areas.
The planned locations include Serasan, Subi, Midai, and Pulau Laut districts. These developments are expected to strengthen food logistics distribution and improve services for communities across Natuna’s island regions. (Prokopim Natuna/D)
