On Wednesday morning (April 6), the Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Natuna Regency Government and the Natuna Regency Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The agreement aims to strengthen the management of regional statistical data. The signing took place in the meeting room of the Natuna Regent’s Office on Jalan Batu Sisir Bukit Arai, Bunguran Timur District.
Also present and signing the MoU was the Head of BPS Natuna Regency, Wahyu Dwi Sugianto. The event was witnessed by the Regional Secretary, the Assistant I of the Regional Secretariat, several heads of relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), and staff members.
On the occasion, Cen Sui Lan expressed the regional government’s strong support for this collaboration, emphasizing that strengthening statistical data will significantly contribute to making regional development planning more measurable, accurate, and well-targeted.
Regarding the effort to enhance data quality, Cen Sui Lan encouraged BPS to continue strengthening coordination with various related OPDs. This, she noted, will help ensure that future data is more accurate and can effectively support integrated regional planning.
Meanwhile, Wahyu Dwi Sugianto explained that this cooperation is a continuation of a partnership that has been established for approximately the past three years. The initiative is primarily aimed at further strengthening statistical data management.
He added that efforts to improve statistical capacity are not only carried out at the regency level but also extend to the village level through the “Desa Cinta Statistik” (Statistics-Loving Village) program. In 2026, BPS Natuna has selected three villages in Bunguran Timur District for the program: Sepempang, Sungai Ulu, and Batu Gajah.
He expressed hope that the signing of this MoU would encourage full support from all Regional Apparatus Organizations, which in turn would positively contribute to the effective implementation of sectoral statistical development, both at the regional and national levels.
