Secretary-General of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia Inaugurates PLUT Natuna, Hopes to Boost Local Business Productivity

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (UMKM RI), Arif Rahman Hakim, inaugurated the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT) building located in the Natuna Gerbang Utaraku Complex, Ranai, on Friday afternoon (September 19).

The event was attended not only by representatives from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs but also by the Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, along with several other invitees, including members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), the Regional Secretary, heads of relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations, leaders of vertical agencies, MSME entrepreneurs, and community figures.

In his remarks, Arif Rahman Hakim emphasized that the establishment of the PLUT in Natuna is in line with the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs for 2025–2029.

He explained that the facility is aimed at supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises, including providing access to export markets for the region’s leading products.

According to him, Natuna, as one of Indonesia’s outermost regions, holds great potential, and the PLUT must serve as a hub for services, business development, and product marketing for local MSMEs.

Arif also added that the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs has established a marketing service agency ready to help promote Natuna’s MSME products across Indonesia and even abroad. Therefore, he expressed his hope that this facility would bring tangible benefits, especially to local business players.

On the same occasion, the Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, expressed gratitude and appreciation for the central government’s attention to Natuna. She stated that the establishment of PLUT KUMKM is concrete proof of the government’s commitment to strengthening the micro, small, and medium enterprise ecosystem in border areas such as Natuna.

She further emphasized that MSMEs are the backbone of the regional economy. With this support, she is optimistic that Natuna’s MSMEs will continue to grow, become more competitive, and even penetrate international markets.

She also noted that strengthening MSMEs requires collaboration among various stakeholders, from local government and vertical agencies to the community. With strong collaboration and synergy, Cen Sui Lan is confident that the productivity and quality of Natuna’s leading products will continue to improve, thereby enhancing the welfare of the local people.

The inauguration of the regional MSME development facility was marked by the signing of an inscription, ribbon-cutting, a traditional tepung tawar blessing ceremony, and a joint prayer led by a representative of the Natuna Malay Customary Institution.
