Regional Emblem Bylaw Passed, Natuna Regent: Strengthening Regional Symbols as Identity and Pride

On Tuesday afternoon, August 19, the Natuna Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) held a Plenary Session in the Paripurna Meeting Room of the DPRD Office, with the agenda of Final Statements from Factions regarding the Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) on the Regional Emblem.

The session, chaired directly by the Speaker of the DPRD, was attended by the Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, the Deputy Regent, Deputy Speakers and a majority of DPRD members, the Regional Secretary, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of regional government organizations (OPD), subdistrict heads, village heads, school principals, and other invited guests.

During the session, all DPRD factions delivered their final views, positions, input, and critical notes on the draft regulation. The majority ultimately expressed approval for the draft to be ratified into a Regional Regulation (Perda).

In her remarks, Regent Cen Sui Lan extended her appreciation to the DPRD members for their support and collaboration in the deliberation of the Regional Emblem Bylaw. She emphasized that a regional emblem is a vital identity symbol that reflects the history, culture, and noble values of the Natuna community.

She further explained that the establishment of the regional emblem represents a shared commitment to strengthening regional identity. The ratified regulation is expected to serve as a foundation for building a strong regional image and a source of pride for the people of Natuna.

In addition to the passing of the draft regulation, the plenary session also marked a historic moment with the official launch of the Natuna Regional Hymn. The hymn was played for the first time before the assembly and was received with heartfelt enthusiasm and emotion from those in attendance.

The Natuna Regional Hymn is expected to serve as both an inspiration and a unifying force for the Natuna community. Regent Cen Sui Lan expressed hope that the hymn would foster a deep love for the homeland, especially among the younger generation, and further strengthen Natuna’s cultural identity amid the challenges of globalization.

This historic milestone is envisioned as a new chapter for Natuna Regency in reinforcing its regional symbols as a source of identity and pride for its people. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
