The Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, accompanied by the Secretary of Natuna Regency, Boy Wijanarko Varianto, attended the Tapau Village Cultural Performance event, in commemoration of 1 Muharram which was held in Tapau Village, Bunguran Tengah District, Natuna Regency, Sunday (07/07) afternoon.
The Village Cultural Performance began with a cultural parade by the Tapau Village community, then continued with the Tapau Village Sedekah Bumi known as the Grebeg Tumpeng culture, where this event presents various types of tumpeng made from the harvest of the local community. The Tumpeng has its own meaning which is made as a form of community gratitude for the abundant harvest.
The Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, said that this tradition is a form of community welfare, so this tradition needs to be preserved because it has a philosophy of mutual cooperation and the meaning of various interactions between people is very strong.
Furthermore, Rodhial Huda said that the transmigration community’s expertise in agrarian food management must be a strong foundation in supporting food needs for the Tapau village community in particular and Natuna in general.
Tapau Village Head, Sudiono Sedekah Bumi is cultural inheritance of the Tapau village community who are transmigration residents from Java, so there are several cultural customs that are still held by the Tapau village community.
“This is a routine event that we carry out every year from generation to generation in order to commemorate one suro or 1 Muharram, but this year there are more activities not only Grebeng Tumpeng, but also traditional parades, Kuda Lumping and various other cultural performances,” Sudiono explained.
This event was marked by the cutting of tumpeng by the Vice Regent of Natuna accompanied by the Regional Secretary of Natuna and the forkopimda. Followed by the vegetable jarah tradition led by the Vice Regent followed by the entire Tapau Village community.
Also present at the event were the Secretary of Natuna Regency, Kajari Natuna, Danlanal, Bunguran Tengah District Head, Village Heads, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders and the Community.
