Sunday (23/06) morning, the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, opened the Sedanau Floating City Festival which was centered at the Sedanau Pioneer Port, Bunguran Barat District.
Several heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations, the Chairperson of the Natuna Regency TP PKK, the Heads of the District and all ranks of the District Government and Leadership Elements of Bunguran Barat District, Pokdarwis Aurora and the local community were present.
Wan Siswandi explained in his speech that this activity was a continuation of the Maros Sand Festival activity program that had been held previously.
He hoped that this activity could be held regularly every year, so that the level of tourist visits both regionally and from outside the region could increase.
Wan Siswandi said in his speech that the Sedanau Floating City Festival was a continuation of the Maros Sand Festival activities in Sedanau which had been successfully held previously. Hopefully this will become an annual and sustainable event.
In addition, Wan Siswandi also emphasized that in addition to the development of the tourism sector, it is hoped that this momentum can become a forum for increasing friendship and cohesiveness for the Sedanau community in particular.
He hoped that this activity would be able to build attractiveness, besides presenting elements of entertainment, this festival is also a joint effort in preserving the culture and traditions of the local community.
West Bunguran District Head, Khaidir in his speech expressed his appreciation to the Natuna Regent, the Tourism Office and all elements of the committee who have provided support for the implementation of the Sedanau Floating City Festival.
Regarding the plan to organize the Bagan Apung and Bakar Ikan Festival which will be held next year, Khaidir also hopes for full support from all parties, hopefully having an impact on efforts to improve the welfare of the people of Bunguran Barat District in particular.
On the same occasion, the Chairman of Pokdarwis Aurora, Frengki, as the Chief Organizer, expressed his gratitude to all parties who have supported the implementation of this festival.
Frengki hoped that this activity can run smoothly, considering that the biggest obstacle at this time is related to the weather, considering that it is currently entering the rainy season.
As for some branches that are contested in the Sedanau Floating City Festival activities this time include Fashion Show competitions, Sampan Racing and Duck Catching Competitions in the Sea. (Pro_kopim/arf).
