Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin Sidik attended the coordination meeting of the National Association of Village Consultative Bodies (ABPEDNAS) at Sisi Basisir Restaurant Hall on Jl. Datuk Kaya Wan Mohd. Benteng, Ranai, Monday morning (September 7). The meeting was attended by the ABPEDNAS leadership, sub-district heads from across Natuna, the DPC Natuna ABPEDNAS board, village heads, and community leaders. As a member of the ABPEDNAS Natuna Advisory Board, Jarmin highlighted the organization’s important role as a forum for BPD members to coordinate, voice community aspirations, and find solutions to issues related to village governance and development.
Jarmin hoped the meeting would further strengthen ABPEDNAS and support more responsive, transparent, and accountable village governance that puts community interests first. He stressed that BPD members should understand the needs and conditions of their respective communities and ensure that public aspirations do not stop at discussions, but are followed through into programs and policies that bring tangible benefits. He also called for stronger cooperation among ABPEDNAS, sub-district and village governments, and the wider community to support more advanced and prosperous villages.
ABPEDNAS Natuna Daily Executive Board Chairman Hadi Candra said ABPEDNAS and BPD also have a role in supporting President Prabowo’s Asta Cita priorities by monitoring national strategic programs, providing input and recommendations, and conveying issues and community aspirations from the village level. This includes overseeing programs such as the Merah Putih Cooperatives and the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, particularly to help identify operational problems or potential violations in their implementation. Hadi encouraged BPD members to continue monitoring these programs to ensure they deliver positive impacts for village communities and contribute to regional development. (Pro_Kopim Natuna/Endang)
