Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin officially opened the National Financial Literacy Movement on Sunday morning (September 6), under the theme “Building a Healthy, Financially Savvy and More Inclusive Natuna Community.” Held at Piwang Beach Square on Jl. Soekarno Hatta, Batu Hitam, Ranai, the event was organized by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Riau Islands Regional Office and Pegadaian. The event brought together local government officials, including members of the Natuna Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), the Regional Secretary, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (FKPD), heads of several regional agencies, and members of the public.
Representing OJK Riau Islands were Roy Aditya Perangin-angin, Middle Manager for Consumer Education and Protection, and Nayla Rahmah Delia, Assistant Manager for Consumer Education and Protection, along with the Head of the Natuna Pegadaian Branch. In his remarks, Jarmin said the program was an important opportunity to strengthen the public’s knowledge and ability to manage their finances wisely and responsibly. As financial services become increasingly accessible through digital technology, he stressed the need for people to make informed decisions and avoid illegal loans, fraudulent investments and other forms of financial scams.
On behalf of the Natuna Regency Government, Jarmin expressed his appreciation to OJK and Pegadaian Natuna for organizing the initiative. He also hoped the event would not only strengthen community ties but, more importantly, provide people with practical information and knowledge to become more financially literate and better prepared to navigate today’s increasingly digital financial landscape.
