Natuna Regent Promotes Strategic Investment Opportunities During Indonesia–China Investment Cooperation Signing

Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan attended the signing ceremony of an investment cooperation agreement between Indonesian business representatives and one of China’s largest quartz manufacturers, an event expected to create new strategic investment opportunities for Natuna Regency.

Her participation reflected the Natuna Regency Government’s commitment to expanding international partnerships and attracting more foreign investment to support regional development.

During the event, the Regent highlighted that the investment initiatives currently being explored could contribute significantly to Natuna’s economic growth by creating employment opportunities, stimulating local business activities, and increasing regional revenue.

As part of the working visit, Cen Sui Lan also held meetings with Andalusia Tribuana Tungga Dewi, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Guangzhou, and Berlianto Situngkir, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Shanghai.

The discussions, which were also attended by several Chinese business representatives, focused on investment prospects and potential areas of cooperation that could be developed in Natuna.

The Regent introduced a range of investment opportunities available in the region, including mining, fisheries and marine industries, marine tourism, and the development of resource-based industrial zones.

Beyond investment, the visit also included consultations on a proposed sister city partnership between Natuna Regency and Hainan Province, China. As Hainan falls under the jurisdiction of the Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou, the discussion explored the potential for long-term cooperation in economic development, trade, tourism, education, culture, and human resource development.

The proposed partnership is expected to strengthen ties between the two regions while allowing Natuna to learn from Hainan’s experience in developing its maritime economy and international tourism sector.

The Regent’s engagement with Indonesian diplomatic representatives and Chinese business leaders reflects the regional government’s ongoing efforts to attract quality investment, expand access to international markets, and improve Natuna’s competitiveness.

The initiative is part of the Natuna Regency Government’s broader commitment to creating sustainable development opportunities through practical international cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for the local community. (Pro_kopimnatuna)
