The Regent of Natuna, represented by the Assistant to the Government of the Natuna Regency Regional Secretariat, Khaidir, chaired the Coordination Meeting on the Prevention of Violence Against Children (KTA) held in the 2nd Floor meeting room of the Natuna Regent’s Office, Batu Sisir Bukit Arai Street, Ranai, Wednesday (04/09) morning.
Khaidir said that this coordination meeting had been held in 2023 and would continue to be held on an ongoing basis. This reflects the local government’s concern and attention to efforts to prevent violence against children which is increasing, seen from the case data this year with 29 cases, and the number of cases that have been reported.
Khaidir also said that all elements involved should be able to immediately conduct socialization for the prevention of violence against children and efforts to protect women, where the biggest potential perpetrators are none other than the closest family, as well as people around the environment.
Given the vulnerability of incidents of both violence against children and women, according to Khaidir, various elements must take part in prevention efforts, both parental supervision, schools, the environment and the response of various institutions according to their functions.
Also present on the occasion were members of the Forkopimda, several leaders of related Regional Apparatus Organizations, district heads, Head of LAM, representatives of teachers and related organizations. (Pro-kopim (D&S)
