Holds Malay Dendang Culture, The Regent of Natuna: Developing the Identity of the Malay Community, Promoting and Preserving Culture

Located at the Volleyball Field in Sepempang Village, on Saturday (9/9) evening, the Natuna Regent, Wan Siswandi, and wife had the opportunity to attend the Malay Dendang Culture Night activity.

Also attending the event were the Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, Head of the Education and Culture Office and Head of Kimpraswil, in addition to the Head of Bunguran Timur Sub-District, village heads and BPD members and the local community.

The event, Dendang Piwang Malay Culture, is a monthly activity as a realisation of the Education and Culture Office's program, which is hosted in several villages.

This is intended as an attempt to introduce and preserve the Malay culture in Natuna Regency, especially the youth who should be fully immersed in it as a basis and personal identity as a Natuna Malay community.

In his speech, Wan Siswandi expressed his appreciation and gratitude, especially to the Sepempang Village Government and the entire community who provided support, so that this activity was held successfully.

He said that arts and culture are part of the Natuna Government Programme as one of the development priorities through recognition, promotion, and preservation efforts.

In addition, this activity, is also an opportunity for a forum for friendship between elements of local government and the community, considering that so far this communication is rarely obtained due to busyness, as well as duties and responsibilities as regional head.

Wan Siswandi also added that the ancestral heritage in the form of cultural arts that are full of meaning must really be preserved, not only the responsibility of the local government alone, but the entire community must protect the intangible treasures of Natuna Regency.

With mutual concern, both traditional leaders and cultural conservationists, Wan Siswandi hopes that all people can preserve Malay culture in their daily lives so that later Malay culture will continue to develop in accordance with Malay customs. (Pro_kopim/Irles)
