Serving A Term of One Year, The Regent and The Vice-Regent of Natuna Hold a Performance Evaluation Meeting of Local Government Officials

Regarding the one-year term of tenure, the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi holds a Performance Evaluation Meeting of Local Government Officials located in the Meeting Room 2nd Floor, office of the Natuna’s Regent, Monday morning (23/05). The Vice Regent of Natuna, the Regional Secretary of Natuna, Assistants, Expert Staff, Heads of the Regional Apparatus Organization, the Sub-District Heads also attend the meeting.

Wan Siswandi in his welcome remark conveys the region minimum capacity demands Natuna to perpetually seek solutions to the implementation of development, namely to build up coordination to the national level through related ministries.

Considering Natuna is one of the border areas, Natuna catches the attention of the related ministries and receives positive responses. Natuna has accomplished some of the central government programs in order to improve the community services which are the construction of a water storage reservoir in Pulau Bunguran and the addition of new utility-scale electric generating capacity.

Building synergy with the central government's development plan in border areas, Natuna is giving all the attention to the growth of Tourism and Fisheries sectors. Specifically in Tourism sector, Natuna has several tourism destinations to potentially develop, including small islands, beaches, geosites, marine tourism and creative-based tourism.

Furthermore, Wan Siswandi adds that to improve wellbeing, he admits the private sector is needed; a plan to construct the canning factory which later will absorb workers from the local community for instance.

However, to attract investors, the local government is working on the regulations regarding licensing to ease the potential investors who are likely to invest in Natuna. Other than that, Wan Siswandi mentions the government gives full attention to the community’s creativity, in order to open more job vacancies so a number of MSME owners have opportunities for growth.

The Vice-Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, in his statement emphasizes that the investors are needed to achieve sustainable regional economic growth, particularly to open more new job vacancies for the local community.

Also, the job vacancy is considered as one of the efforts to address the KemenPAN-RB policy planning which intends to reduce or eliminate honorary workers in 2023. Furthermore, Rodhial mentions the zonation of marine fishing ground where the measuring area is set at above 30 miles while below 30 miles is the fishing ground for local fishermen.

Rodhial conveys the Education Sector needs special attention to increase the opportunities for the next-gen, particularly putra daerah (natives) to go to college. It is intended to prepare the competent, skilled, and knowledgeable next generations that have the abilities to compete and are more applicable to the future of regional potential sectors development.

Rodhial hopes all the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) is being more active and creative to carry out the work programs and to mutually support one with another. It is as the integration and cooperation of various regional development sectors. (Pro_kopim/eris)
