As part of the preparations for the 27th Anniversary of Natuna Regency in 2026, Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan, accompanied by the Regional Secretary and heads of all regional government agencies, led a community clean-up and tree-planting activity on Jalan Simpang Lima, Bukit Arai, Ranai, on Friday (30 October).
The activity was part of the local government’s efforts to keep the environment clean, beautiful, and well protected. It also aims to create greener and more comfortable public spaces for the community.
During the activity, Cen Sui Lan said that keeping the environment clean, beautiful, and comfortable is not only the responsibility of the government. Everyone in the community has a role to play.
She hoped that planting flowers and other plants along the green spaces would encourage more people to take part in caring for their surroundings and help create a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful environment.
Cen Sui Lan also explained that choosing bougainvillea was not only about making the town more beautiful with its colourful flowers. The plant also carries a message that can inspire the community.
Bougainvillea is known as a strong plant that can withstand heat and continue to grow and bloom even in challenging weather conditions.
According to her, the plant reflects the spirit of staying strong, facing challenges with confidence, and continuing to care for the environment so that it remains green and beautiful.
She further hoped that the tree-planting activity would bring lasting benefits, including creating greener surroundings, improving air quality, and helping reduce pollution.
Cen Sui Lan also called on residents, communities, and regional government agencies to take care of the plants together. With proper care, the plants are expected to grow well and provide benefits for years to come.
Through this community clean-up and tree-planting activity, the Natuna Regency Government hopes to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and environmental awareness among residents. More importantly, caring for the environment is expected to become a daily habit and a shared part of community life. (Pro_kopimnatuna/S)
