Natuna Regent Brings Food Aid, Free Health Checks and Safety Gear to Bunguran Timur Laut

Natuna Regent Cen Sui Lan, accompanied by Deputy Regent Jarmin, met with residents of Tanjung Village on Monday (September 21) to distribute food assistance, provide access to free health checks, and hand over safety equipment for local fishermen.

The assistance was delivered as part of the July–September 2026 food support program, with Cen saying the initiative was intended not only to help ease household expenses but also to strengthen the government’s connection with communities. She encouraged residents to make the most of the free health screening, while also calling for the distribution process to remain transparent, orderly, and targeted to those who need it most.

For residents of Tanjung Village, the food assistance consisted of rice for 685 households, totaling 20,550 kilograms. Additional social assistance was provided to 79 elderly residents and 12 households classified as living in extreme poverty.

The program also addressed safety at sea, with the Regional Transportation Agency providing life jackets to 20 fishermen from four fishing groups in Kelanga and Tanjung villages. Bunguran Timur Laut District Head Tarmizi expressed his appreciation for the support, saying the assistance would provide meaningful help to vulnerable households in the area.

The event was attended by members of the Natuna DPRD, relevant regional officials, the RSUD director, Bulog representatives, specialist doctors, village heads, and local residents. (Pro_Kopim Natuna/S)
