Natuna Deputy Regent Jarmin officially opened the Kelarik Utara Cup 2026 on Saturday (August 1) at the Kelarik Utara Football Field in North Bunguran District. The annual tournament features football, volleyball, and traditional gasing (spinning top) competitions involving village teams.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Chair of the Natuna Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), the Head of the Youth and Sports Office, the Chair of the Natuna Sports Committee, sub-district and village heads from across North Bunguran, team officials, and local community leaders.
In his remarks, Jarmin said the tournament provides athletes with an opportunity to showcase their abilities while strengthening friendship, unity, and solidarity through sports. He encouraged participants to use the competition to improve their skills, maintain a safe and orderly atmosphere, and uphold the spirit of fair play throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, Kelarik Utara Village Head Syafruddin said the tournament is scheduled to run for approximately one month. This year’s event brings together teams from several neighboring districts, with 44 football teams, 24 women’s volleyball teams, 29 men’s volleyball teams, and 32 gasing teams taking part.
Syafruddin added that the Kelarik Utara Cup is an annual event hosted on a rotating basis by six villages, with Kelarik Utara serving as this year’s host. (Pro_kopimnatuna/Red)
