Natuna Regent Brings Specialist Medical Team to Midai

On the second day of his working visit to Midai Island, the Regent of Natuna continued inspecting various development projects and public services currently underway. One of the main focuses of the visit was ensuring the quality of healthcare facilities, which serve as a vital service for the local community.

As part of the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services, the Regent brought along a team of specialist doctors to provide free medical examinations for residents of Midai and Suak Midai Districts. The medical service activities were centered at the Midai Community Health Center (Puskesmas) on Tuesday morning (25/11).

The visiting medical specialists included experts in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatrics. Their presence was expected to provide more comprehensive healthcare services and help with early detection of various health issues among the community.

This visit became an important opportunity for residents of Midai and Suak Midai to consult directly with medical specialists—an option that is typically difficult to access due to limited healthcare facilities in the island region. The free services included consultations, general health checks, and recommendations for follow-up treatment.

Community enthusiasm was evident from early morning, as hundreds of residents gathered in the courtyard of the Midai Health Center to receive medical services. People of various age groups came with the hope of getting a more thorough assessment of their health conditions.

Puskesmas staff and the medical team ensured the service ran smoothly and comfortably by implementing an organized queue system. The presence of the specialist team also provided an opportunity for local healthcare workers to exchange knowledge and learn more about handling advanced medical cases.

Through this initiative, the Regent of Natuna hopes that healthcare services across the islands will continue to improve and become more evenly distributed. The presence of specialist doctors in Midai not only brings immediate benefits to the community but also motivates the regional government to keep advancing healthcare solutions throughout Natuna.
