On Wednesday morning (19/11), at the Riau Islands High Prosecutor’s Office, the Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, paid an official courtesy visit to the Chief Prosecutor (Kajati) of the Riau Islands, Jehezkiel Devy Sudarso. The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening inter-agency synergy in regional governance and law enforcement.
During the visit, Regent Cen Sui Lan expressed her respect and appreciation for the Kepri High Prosecutor’s Office for its role in maintaining legal stability across the province. She stressed that close collaboration between regional executives and law enforcement agencies is essential to building clean, transparent, and accountable governance.
Kajati Kepri, Jehezkiel Devy Sudarso, warmly welcomed the Regent’s visit. He affirmed that the Prosecutor’s Office remains open to dialogue and cooperation with district governments, especially in efforts to prevent criminal acts—including corruption—and to guide local officials in complying with regulations.
The two parties discussed several strategic issues, including legal assistance for Natuna’s development projects, protection of regional assets, and ensuring fair and proportionate law enforcement mechanisms. The Regent emphasized the importance of prosecutorial guidance during the planning stages to minimize potential legal risks.
Jehezkiel Devy Sudarso further underlined the High Prosecutor’s Office’s commitment to strengthening preventive approaches through legal education and outreach programs for local government officials. These initiatives aim to enhance legal awareness and help anticipate future legal challenges at an early stage.
The courtesy meeting also served as an opportunity for the Regent to convey various public concerns related to service delivery and legal protection. She hopes that, through enhanced cooperation with the High Prosecutor’s Office, the district government can provide services that are more effective, ethical, and accountable.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both the Natuna Regency Government and the Riau Islands High Prosecutor’s Office reaffirmed their readiness to build stronger and more sustainable cooperation. This synergy is expected not only to reinforce the legal system but also to support regional development in Natuna through professional and dignified governance. (Prokopim/Patli)
