Natuna Regent Attends Corn Seed Planting by Bumdes Putri Bertuah in Gunung Putri Village

The Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, attended a corn seed planting activity organized by the Village-Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) Putri Bertuah in Gunung Putri Village, Bunguran Batubi District, on Monday afternoon (01/09).

The ceremony was marked by a symbolic planting carried out by Regent Cen Sui Lan, accompanied by the Vice Regent, the Chief of Natuna Police (Kapolres), and members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

In its initial stage, corn seeds will be planted on a two-hectare plot of land managed directly by Bumdes Putri Bertuah. This site will serve both as a pilot project and as the starting point for developing a community-based productive agricultural area.

In her remarks, Regent Cen Sui Lan expressed her appreciation to Bumdes Putri Bertuah and the people of Gunung Putri Village for their initiative in boosting agricultural productivity while also supporting national food security.

According to the Regent, agriculture is one of the key pillars of regional development. Through this corn planting program, it is expected that tangible benefits will be generated for the community.

She further explained that this activity is part of the acceleration of the central government’s Astacita program, which places food security as a strategic agenda in national development.

This program is also expected to deliver added value to the village community—by increasing household income, creating new employment opportunities, and fostering a model of sustainable agriculture. (Prokopim/Patli)
