On the 64th Scout Day Commemoration, Natuna Regent: Make the Scout Movement a Moral Stronghold and Builder of Excellent Character

The Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, served as the inspector of the ceremony commemorating the 64th Anniversary of Scout Day 2025, held at Pantai Piwang Field, Ranai, on Wednesday (14 August 2025).

The ceremony was attended by hundreds of Scouts from the Siaga, Penggalang, Penegak, and Pandega levels, along with scoutmasters and key figures from the Scout Movement in Natuna Regency.

In addition to Scout members and leaders, the event was also attended by several government officials from the Natuna Regency Government, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and representatives from community organizations.

In her address, Regent Cen Sui Lan emphasized that the Scout Movement is a strategic platform for shaping young people of noble character, discipline, independence, and strong national identity. She highlighted that Scouting is not merely an extracurricular activity, but an integral part of the national strategy for character education in schools and communities alike.

She further stated that the Scout Movement instills noble values such as mutual cooperation, patriotism, and care for others and the environment. These principles, she asserted, must be continuously passed down to future generations.

On this occasion, Cen Sui Lan also called on all Scout members in Natuna to innovate in their training and activities so that the movement can keep pace with changing times without losing its identity. This is especially important, she noted, as the challenges faced by today’s youth in the digital era require creative approaches to ensure that the values of Scouting remain relevant.

With the spirit of Scout Day, she expressed her hope that Natuna will foster a generation that is resilient, well-mannered, and prepared to face future challenges—by embracing the Scout Movement as a moral compass and foundation for character development.

The ceremony was enlivened by various performances, including spirited marching formations, enthusiastic cheers from Scout participants, a marching band, and other attractions presented by representatives of several Scout troops. (Prokopim/Patli)
