Located at the Air Payang Village Ball Field, Wednesday (09/07) evening, the Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, opened the Dendang Piwang cultural arts performance in Pulau Laut District. The event was attended by several heads of Regional Apparatus Organisations, the Head of RRI Pratama Ranai, the Head of District and the ranks of the Pulau Laut District Government, Forkopimcam and the local community.
Rodhial said the event was a local government program as an effort to involve the community in preserving and promoting Malay cultural arts.
By involving the younger generation in this collaboration, it is hoped that regional cultural arts will be preserved and new creativity will be created from the latest flavors without leaving the original cultural values of the ancestral heritage.
Rodhial emphasised that efforts to preserve regional cultural heritage are not the task of the local government alone, therefore all related groups are expected to be actively involved together and continue to encourage and accommodate the younger generation to be more courageous in performing traditional Malay arts.
On this occasion, the Vice Regent of Natuna had the opportunity to hand over Vacum Sealer equipment assistance to 4 MSME groups in Pulau Laut, as well as handing over uniform Malay clothes from the Natuna Regency Malay Customary Institute (LAM) to the LAM Management of Pulau Laut District.
Some of the art performances featured in the event included Serempang 12 Dance, Muara Zapin Dance, Rajuk Rindu Zapin Dance, and Nyuluk Suai Dance.
Moreover, all invitees and visitors were also presented with a Creation Dance performance from students of SD 01 Air Payang. The activity felt more lively with the presentation of Malay songs performed by the Natuna Malay Orchestra. (Pro_kopim/Atra)
