The Regent of Natuna, represented by the Assistant of Government and People’s Welfare of the Natuna Regency Secretariat, Khaidir, opened the Natuna Regency Genre Ambassador Appreciation Summit held at the Sri Serindit Multipurpose Building, on Wednesday (28/2) morning.
Khaidir appreciated all parties who had been involved in the implementation of this activity so that it could run well.
He said that this activity can be a positive energy to encourage teenagers to be better and healthier, to be more creative and productive in various fields.
In addition, Khaidir also explained that this activity can provide insights to teenagers as future assets of the region to continue to be motivated to pursue education, pursue careers and get married with full planning, so that they are ready to face future developments, following the theme “Together with genre ambassadors, prevent stunting and early marriage for golden Indonesia 2045”.
To conclude his speech, Khaidir gave encouragement and advised that the finalists who would later be crowned winners could take advantage of the opportunity to represent Natuna Regency in the same event at the provincial level.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Natuna Regency Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Office (DP3AP2KB), Sri Riawati, reported that the purpose of this activity was to continue to improve Natuna’s youth as the next generation of regional development that has character and integrity.
Sri Riawati further explained that this programme had gone through several selection stages, with 24 finalists (12 pa/12 pi) selected.
The finalists have been equipped with various training such as public speaking skills, basic knowledge about stunting, and knowledge of adolescent nutrition and adolescent reproductive health.
The winner will be crowned as the Natuna Regency Genre Ambassador and represent Natuna at the provincial level and is expected to qualify to represent Riau Islands Province at the national level. (Pro_kopim/Atra)
