Wednesday (21/02) morning, Pering, Bandarsyah Village, Bunguran Timur Subdistrict, Natuna Regency became one of the locations for the simultaneous Mangrove Planting Programme, which is one of the programmes of Kodam 1/Bukit Barisan as a form of concern for the environment.
On the occasion, the Regent of Natuna, represented by the Regional Secretary, Boy Wijanarko Varianto, was present, among other invitees, such as members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, several representatives of mass organisations and OKP, the community and Scout members from several local high school bases.
The Commander of Kodam 1/Bukit Barisan, Mayjend TNI Mochammad Hasan in his virtual speech when opening the activity expressed his appreciation to all elements involved.
He further stated that this activity is a form of concern and commitment in a joint effort to preserve the environment, especially coastal areas, to prevent environmental damage/abrasion of coastal areas.
He hopes that this activity can be used as a momentum to increase mutual concern for efforts to preserve the environment as a legacy for posterity.
In addition to maintaining and preserving the existing mangrove ecosystem, he also hopes that this effort can be held sustainably in the future. It is not impossible that this area can be designated as a conservation area that supports the development of other sectors, such as tourist destinations that will have an impact on improving the economy of the local community.
