The majority of Natuna Regency people work as fishermen, so improving welfare is one of the priorities of the local government. In addition to providing free health insurance assistance, the local government also provides assistance that can support the fishermen’s profession.
This was conveyed by the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, in front of the community in a meeting agenda as well as symbolic handover of assistance, as a series of official visit activities in Bunguran Barat District, Wednesday (28/08) morning, at the Sedanau Village multipurpose building.
Wan Siswandi explained that the assistance provided was not to spoil the community, but as a facilitation to create a more independent community, while stimulating local economic activity.
He expected that from the sources of assistance provided, guidance and supervision could be carried out, so that it would encourage changes that had a real impact on improving the welfare of the community.
As for some forms of assistance submitted this time, including fishing gear and boat engines, the delivery of 6000 grouper fish seeds, ambulances, motorized vehicles (Tosa) garbage transportation and garbage cans.
Present on the occasion included the Chairperson of the Natuna Regency TP PKK, leaders of Regional Apparatus Organizations, District Heads and leadership elements of Sedanau district, community leaders and representatives of aid recipients. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
