Visits Natuna; The U.S Embassy Representative Follows Up The Regional Potential Development and Investment Plan.

Tuesday (10/05), the U.S Embassy representative whom visits Natuna are warmly welcomed by the Regent of Natuna and its levels of Natuna Regency Government.

The U.S Embassy representative to Indonesia, represented by Mr. Nicholas Austin and Miss. Abbey Jostrad Cannata are scheduled to hold a meeting with the Regent of Natuna and its levels of Natuna Regency Government in the Meeting Room 2nd Floor, office of the Natuna’s Regent, Batu Sisir St, Bukit Arai, Ranai.

The Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi explains Natuna is focusing on the development of 5 pillars which are Oil and Gas, Tourism, Fisheries, Defense and Environmental Control. As instructed by the President through the program of the acceleration of border areas development.

Of the five pillars above, Natuna is giving all the attention to the growth of Tourism and Fisheries sectors. Specifically in Tourism sector, Natuna has several tourism destinations to potentially develop, including small islands, beaches, mountains, and underwater tourism such as exploring coral reefs and cargo ship sank.

Furthermore, Natuna also becomes a stopover destination for international expeditions. However, the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi deplores the fact that Natuna still does not yet own Marina Bay (marine port) and its supporting facilities. It is for this reason, Natuna offers an opportunity for investment in this sector.

Wan Siswandi adds in the improvement of the Fisheries sector, the Central Government has implemented the 711 KKP Program which offers the investors opportunities for investment. Specifically, the commercial fishing business, the fish processing industry and other fisheries infrastructure development fund.

In order to actualize all the potential above, Natuna government will commit to provide conveniences of administration, regulation and location to open the investment opportunities up.

By through this, Wan Siswandi hopes the U.S Embassy will support by informing and facilitating also will act as a bridge between the government and the investors (members of consortium of entrepreneurship under the U.S Embassy).

The U.S Embassy representative to Indonesia, Miss. Abbey Jostrad Cannata shows her appreciation to the Natuna Regency Government for giving such a remarkable speech. Abbey mentions the purpose of their visit to Natuna is to directly listen to the Regent of Natuna regarding the ongoing priority sectors. Abbey says the U.S Embassy gives the complete attention on the development of the fisheries, ports, roads, and other infrastructures as stated and discussed during the previous visit.

Abbey also conveys that the U.S Embassy is very open, particularly to Natuna Government, for coordination, consultation and discussion on the idea of ​​sustainable development.  (Pro_kopim/ Eris)
