Vice Regent of Natuna Leads First Semester Coordination Meeting with BPJS Kesehatan

Budget cuts resulting from the central government’s efficiency policy have affected budget planning at the regency/municipal levels, including Natuna Regency.

One of the affected budget items is the allocation for social security, particularly in the cooperation between the local government and BPJS Kesehatan (the National Health Insurance Agency).

This was conveyed by Vice Regent of Natuna, Jarmin, SE, in his opening remarks during the coordination meeting between the Natuna Regency Government and BPJS Kesehatan Natuna, held at the Regent’s Office Meeting Room, Jalan Batu Sisir Bukit Arai, Ranai, on Monday morning (April 21).

Also in attendance were the Regional Secretary of Natuna Regency, several heads of related Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs), the Head of BPJS Natuna Branch, and several staff members. The meeting focused on reviewing the implementation of the first semester of the 2025 health insurance cooperation program.

Jarmin stated that, given the current impact of budget efficiency, further discussion and coordination are needed to balance the budget allocation, ensuring that both parties can maintain their commitment to providing health insurance for the people of Natuna in the future.

Considering that health is one of the local government’s priorities, Jarmin emphasized the importance of continuing this collaboration to guarantee quality healthcare services for the public, both at community health centers (Puskesmas) and at the regional hospital (RSUD).

On the same occasion, Ardiansyah, Head of the Tanjungpinang BPJS Office, reported that as of April 1, 2025, Natuna Regency’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) had reached 101.3%.

Additionally, Natuna has been included in the UHC Priority List and received an award from the central government in 2024, due to the simplified registration process that only requires a National Identity Card (KTP).

The recognition and convenience provided by the central BPJS office were granted in appreciation of the Natuna Regency Government’s support for the achievement of the national strategic program in the field of health social security. (Prokopim/Patli)\
