Held in the Zoom Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the Natuna Regent’s Office, Jl. Batu Sisir Bukit Arai, Ranai, Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, led a coordination meeting with representatives from SKK Migas Sumbagut and PEM Akamigas regarding scholarship quotas for local students for the 2025/2026 academic year, on Tuesday morning (15/04).
The PEM Akamigas Scholarship is offered to local youth in recognition of Natuna’s status as one of Indonesia’s oil and gas (migas) producing regions. It is essential to provide education to the younger generation about the oil and gas industry by offering educational opportunities through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scholarship Program.
During the meeting, Cen Sui Lan stated that, in addition to having significant oil and gas potential, Natuna must also provide opportunities for its young generation to pursue education and acquire relevant skills. This would increase their chances of working in the oil and gas sector and ultimately contribute to improving regional welfare.
Currently, six local students have already been enrolled at PEM Akamigas. Cen Sui Lan expressed hope that PEM Akamigas would reopen scholarship quotas through this CSR program as a joint effort to support the development of human resources in the region.
Head of the Public Relations Department of SKK Migas, Yanin Kholisan, stated that the scholarship program reflects the company’s commitment to improving the quality of human resources, especially for youth in oil and gas operational areas and border regions.
In response to the Regent’s proposal, he affirmed that SKK Migas fully supports this collaboration. As a form of commitment, PEM Akamigas will prepare an admission scheme, selection timeline, and quota for prospective students, which will be coordinated internally based on SKK Migas Central Office policies.
The meeting was also attended by several officials from both parties, including the Head of the Cooperation Division of Natuna Regency Secretariat, the Head of PEM Akamigas Sumbagut, and the Director of the PEM Akamigas Polytechnic. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
