After holding an audience with the Singapore Consulate General in the meeting room of the Natuna Regent’s Office, the Vice Regent of Natuna Rodhial Huda accompanied the Songapura Consulate General to visit the Natuna Regency DPRD office, Wednesday (15/01) afternoon.
The Vice Regent of Natuna Rodhial Huda said that the purpose of the visit was to introduce the regional potential of Natuna Regency in realising the Natuna Special Economic Zone in the maritime sector.
Rodhial Huda expects support from the Natuna Regency DPRD, both through the application of regulations that can facilitate the investment process, as well as good synergy between the DPRD and the Natuna Regency Government in realising the maritime Special Economic Zone in the border region.
Furthermore, he invited the Singapore Consulate General to directly review several places that are potential investments in Natuna Regency.
The first place to visit was the Coconut Supplier in the south cemaga village area, south bunguran district. The coconut industry through coconut exports, including copra, coconut oil, and other processed products, should be one of the leading commodities that make a significant contribution to the economy of Natuna Regency.
The Vice Regent of Natuna hopes that through the visits of several Consuls General from various countries. Can open export channels because coconut commodities in Natuna are very large and easily available.
Continuing his visit with the Consul General of Singapore, the Vice Regent of Natuna and his entourage headed to the Penarik area of South Bunguran. Where Penarik is a strategic point because it is travelled by many foreign ships or known as the ALKI 1 route.
So, in the long run Natuna can become a stopover for foreign ships because Natuna is in a strategic area surrounded by countries in the Asean region. So that Natuna has great potential to become a logistics and energy support for ships that cross the Natuna region.
The visit was continued by visiting the Fish factory in Lampa Strait. During the visit, the Vice Regent of Natuna said that Fisheries is one of the great potentials in Natuna Regency considering that 98% of Natuna’s area is ocean.
Of course this can be a long-term investment opportunity if the Maritime Special Economic Zone in the Natuna region can be realised.
Not only agriculture and fisheries, tourism is one of the development priorities in Natuna Regency. This is supported by the natural beauty of Natuna, especially marine tourism. The visit was closed by visiting two leading tourist attractions, namely Teluk Depen and Batu Kasah Beach, which were awarded the Favourite Tourism Village Award given by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia.

So that the development of Natuna as a Special Economic Zone can be a strategic step to bring more investment to Natuna Regency.
