The Vice Regent of Natuna, Rodhial Huda, welcomed the visit of the Indonesian Presidential Staff (KSP) who was conducting his official service in Natuna on Thursday noon (02/02) in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of the Natuna Regent’s Office.
The entourage, along with the Vice Chairman of the Natuna DPRD, Forkopimda, and Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations, held a discussion on the most recent regional development conditions.
Rodhial Huda’s speech addressed several regional strategic issues that are currently being addressed, including legal, defense, and security issues. Natuna has things to consider, he says, because this area is 99 percent water, but Natuna has no authority over this potential.
Furthermore, despite the fact that Natuna is one of the Republic of Indonesia’s border areas with several neighbors, development in this border area is extremely limited. The front porch should be a miniature of the country’s progress in order to increase the country’s authority.
Given the region’s great potential, such as in the marine and fisheries sectors and oil and gas, Rodhial hopes that by making this area a priority area for the maritime economy, this area can become one of the focuses of state development.
On the same occasion, Irfan Pulungan, the Principal Expert of the Indonesian Presidential Staff for Law and Human Rights, explained during the discussion that the Natuna issue or problem is one of the materials that is still being discussed at the central level, particularly at the KSP.
One of the central concerns and efforts is how Natuna becomes the gateway to the country with a higher level of development, given that the South China Sea issue has recently been raised, which is thought to have a significant impact on the country’s integrity.
Irfan believes that proper development requires communication, coordination, and collaboration between the local and central governments, so that development achievements can be more targeted and measurable.
Furthermore, Mufti Makarimal Akhlaq (KSP Principal Expert) stated that the KSP exists to listen and to be the president’s eyes and ears. While Natuna is the country’s veranda, it must be taken into account. In other words, Indonesia will be great if its veranda is great.
As a result, Mufti invited local and central governments to work together to create a commitment to a better national civilization. Meanwhile, KSP will act as a mediator, listen and respond, and draw various conclusions as material for central government policy. (Pro_kopim/Sri).
