On Sunday, 12 May 2024, the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, directly released 863 Natuna Geopark Marathon participants, which is the first marathon event in Natuna Regency and will be scheduled as an annual event.
Wan Siswandi congratulated the implementation of the Natuna Geopark Marathon 2024, which was held thanks to the synergy of the Regency Government with various parties.
‘’Surely this is an innovative step in the coloring of the regional tourism sector. So far, people know Natuna with the beauty of its marine tourism, but now Natuna can offer a variety of more diverse tourism activities, so that it can bring in more tourists,’ explained Wan Siswandi.
Wan Siswandi added further that in encouraging the development of the Tourism Sector, the local government continues to collaborate with various parties to create creative events that have an attraction for local and foreign tourists.
‘Creative events like this will have a multi-sectoral impact, this can be seen by organizing local food bazaar activities at the same time, indirectly providing opportunities to leave local MSME income in each event,’ added Wan Siswandi.
The release event was marked by the direct release by the Regent of Natuna accompanied by the Natuna Regional Secretary and Forkopimda.
The several race categories in the Natuna Geopark Marathon consists of 5 Km, 10 Km, Half Marathon and Full Marathon, where the start/finish point is centred on Piwang Beach, Ranai, Bungura Timur District. (Pro_kopim/Patli)
