The Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi officially opened the Love Muallaf Programme at Sri Srindit Building, Jl. Yosudarso, Batu Hitam, Ranai, Wednesday (25/10) morning. Also present at the event were members of the Forkopimda, Heads of Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD), Chairman of the MUI of Muallaf Natuna Regency, and Chairman of Baznas Natuna Regency and staff.
In his speech, Wan Siswandi said that Maal zakat is one of the pillars of Islam which aims to clean the property gained to obtain blessings for the property itself.
It was also conveyed that currently each OPD within the Natuna Regency Government has agreed to donate 1 kg of rice (per person) every month, which is intended for poor parking.
Donations in the form of infaq above if collected will amount to approximately 1.5 tonnes per month which will be distributed to the recipients / the du'afa. He hopes that this policy will become one of the fields of charity to invite blessings for Natuna.
To the Baznas management of Riau Islands Province and Natuna Regency who organised this activity, Wan Siswandi expressed his gratitude and appreciation. Hopefully this activity will provide benefits for efforts to purify the assets owned, and is worth the reward for Muslims in particular.
On the same occasion, the Chairman of Baznas Natuna Regency, H. Wan Suhardi reported that this time his party would distribute the zakat of the people distributed through Baznas as an economic aid to 20 Muallaf of IDR 2 million (each recipient), besides that monetary assistance would also be handed over to 50 other Muallaf.
In addition, Wan Suhardi also explained that so far his party had distributed zakat to all sub-districts in Natuna Regency, for 100 fisabilillah, and the poor, orphans, from January to August 2023.
Wan Suhardi also thanked all parties for paying zakat through Baznas Natuna, God willing, the assistance provided will benefit the people of Natuna Regency.
He also explained that currently Baznas Natuna is also involved in efforts to deal with stunting. In addition, 27 sanitation units (household toilets) have also been built, especially in the Ranai Darat area.
Baznas also provides support to people who are in debt with the current cooperative loan system. He hopes that borrowers of the co-operative funds can do business more independently in the future, and with more blessed business results can pay zakat. (Pro_kopim/Endang)
