Qasidah art is one of the heritages rooted in culture and Islam that was created and passed down from generation to generation as a form of Islamic syi'ar to Muslims, including in the Riau Islands.
However, today the art is a little left out by modern culture and art. This should be a common concern considering that art is one of the communication media to convey messages.
Given the importance of this art, it is deemed necessary to take steps to preserve it by exploring, recording, introducing and fostering this art, so that it can again play its role, as a medium for syi'ar Islam.
This was conveyed by the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, when attending the Inauguration and Inauguration of the Chairperson and Management of the Regional Leadership Council of the All Indonesian Qasidah Art Institute (Lasqi) of Natuna Regency, period 2023-2028.
Septi Dwiani Wan Siswandi on this occasion was named Chairman of DPD Lasqi Natuna Regency, further mandated to strengthen both institutionally and efforts to preserve and foster Qasidah artists in Natuna.
Located in the Wanita Building, Batu Sisir Bukit Arai Street, Ranai, Tuesday (7/2) morning, Wan Siswandi emphasized that Lasqi has a strategic role, considering that the local government has also determined the field of faith to be one of the main visions and missions of regional development.
For this reason, the local government will continue to provide support for efforts to develop the art of qasidah and various similar arts that have an Islamic Syi'ar function and aim to strengthen ukhuwah islamiyah among the people.
Chairman of DPW Lasqi Riau Islands Province, Yuniarni Pustoko Weni after inaugurating the board of DPD Lasqi Natuna Regency, explained that Lasqi is a forum for Islamic cultural arts and social society on a national scale.
Yuniarni hoped that this inauguration would not only be a mere ceremonial activity but that real action could be carried out. Considering that the work of preservation and development will drain a lot of energy. Therefore, it is expected to build coordination with various related elements.
Furthermore, the elected Chairperson of DPD Lasqi Natuna Regency, Septi Dwiani Wan Siswandi also expressed her gratitude to all elements who have entrusted her to lead this organization with all the management.
Septi plans to start taking concrete steps to realize the art of qasidah and various other Islamic arts as a form of communication for the people to convey the message of syi'ar Islam.
However, to realize the above, Septi admits that this institution needs support from various parties, both from the local government, across agencies, as well as culturalists and Qasidah art actors to encourage this art to regain a place in the hearts of the people.(Pro_kopim/Sri).
