Held at Gajah Mina hall room Hotel Adiwana, Sepempang Village, Bunguran Timur District, the Vice Regent of Natuna attended the Inauguration of the Natuna Branch of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) 2022-2026 period, Sunday (05/03) afternoon.
Also attending the event were Head of the Natuna Regency Health Office, the Director of Natuna Regional Hospital, the Head of Ranai Community Health Centre, the Chairperson of the IAI Regional Board of Riau Islands Province, several heads of medical professional associations, members and the IAI Board of Natuna Regency.
After an election process on the same day, Eska Rizki Ari Rahma, S.Kom APt was elected by acclamation to continue the position for the second time.
Rodhial Huda on the occasion stated that the pharmacist's function in the implementation of health services determines the healing process, through the process of prescribing medications that are appropriate, effective and safe, affordable, the right information, the right follow-up, the right delivery of drugs (Dispensing), and the patient complies with the required medication orders.
Rodhial further said that to meet these health services, it needs to be supported by high-quality pharmaceutical services. Meanwhile, one of the problems that remains is the irrational use of drugs by pharmacists as pharmaceutical workers.
Therefore, efforts to improve the knowledge and skills of pharmacists, particularly in providing appropriate, effective and professional drug services, are required.
Rodhial also acknowledged that IAI as an institution accommodating pharmacists is one of the spearheads of health services, which has a great responsibility in the improvement of the quality of public health.
Therefore, it is hoped that the newly appointed administrators can strive to improve the competency standards of regional pharmacists, and at the same time strengthen the organisation's role, and build synergy to support the regional development implementation.
The Chairperson of the IAI Regional Board of Riau Islands Province, Lies Palupi Hadiningsih on this occasion also congratulated the elected Chairperson and administrators hoping to continue the successor leadership and the running of the organisation in line with the AD/ART.
Lies also explained that the Natuna Regency is the fourth IAI Branch out of six branches in Riau Islands which has completed the election and replacement of administrators at the Regency / City level.
Meanwhile, based on the AD/ART, the replacement of the IAI administrators is done every four years, to provide opportunities and at the same time to perform cadres and pass on the organisational relay, in which the election is held through a deliberation mechanism for consensus.
Lies also hoped that with the election process as done today, silaturrahmi, solidarity and concern towards the organisation will be established, so in the future this platform can further increase its participation in facilitating the various aspirations of members, also to improve the quality of health services in the region.
